In this activity, you will be given 10 slides with an inequality on each slide. There will be 10 numbers at the bottom.

Replace the variable in the inequality with each number to determine if it makes the inequality true or false. Then drag that number to the correct box.

Don’t forget to click the blue “check” button once you’ve typed in the answer to check it’s correct before moving onto the next slide.

Good luck!

Want to further engage and challenge your students? Combine the game above with the printable recording page, where they can record their thinking and answers to the game and further practice this math skill.

Feeling stuck? Remember, we use variables to represent quantities (numbers) that we don’t know. To evaluate, replace the variable with a number in order to “test” the inequality. Be sure to follow order of operations: parenthesis, multiplication/division (from left to right) then addition/subtraction (from left to right).

There are no formulas to use for this math task.
